I love healthy food and it seems like I’m not the only one, because Dublin has improved in leaps and bounds when it comes to healthy options. The latest one to get our seal of approval is the very hip Staple Foods. The crowd at Staple Foods are going one step further than the pack -they’re not just doing healthy food, they’re also making it interesting.
Temple Bar is a somewhat unlikely location for super healthy food, but in Temple Bar it is and bang slap in the middle too. Staple Foods started life as a tiny spot in the Merchants Arch. Its new home beside the Button Factory is airy, spacious and super cool, with a clientele to match. Don’t let that put you off though, they are serving colossal, mega-tasty salads and amazing juices. Who would have thought that a juice, the detoxer’s drink, could be so good?
The pulled pork salad was perfectly balanced, with crunchy veg, salty pork and a sweet sauce. The portion was huge and I enjoyed every bit of it. This is healthy food that will fill you up. The room is just smart enough that you could have a nice evening meal here too.
In line with the hipster theme the coffee is, of course, from 3FE. That’s a thumbs up for the food, the juices and the coffee. Staple Foods ticks the last box too, because it’s great value. Food that makes you healthy and food that makes you happy. Now that’s not something you see very often.
