It’s a website dedicated to Eating Clean and Paleo, so we called it eatcleanpaleo. We never said we were imaginative, ok? But we’re not here to be imaginative, we’re here to help you eat a little bit healthier. Ireland is hurtling towards a future as Europe’s fattest country and that’s not a contest we want to win. Healthy eating doesn’t have to be difficult and it doesn’t have to be boring and we’re going to do our level best to prove it.

Clean Eating is a no-brainer. Basically it just involves cutting out the processed food and all the crap. Instead, food should be freshly prepared and eaten in its most natural form. That’s pretty much it. It’s a long-term lifestyle approach to food and its preparation, not a short term diet.

The Paleo Diet is a little more hardcore, yet it’s hugely popular right now. The idea is to try and eat the food that our cavemen ancestors ate. Sugar, dairy, grains, legumes, polyunsaturated fats and processed food are out; while meat, eggs, seafood, non-starchy veg and some fruit, nuts and seeds are in. The protein heavy, low-carb principles mean there’s a good chance you’ll drop weight, but that’s not the only reason to give it a go. Followers of the diet report experiencing a range of health benefits – everything from better skin to better digestive health.
